We return to the Kingdom of Ireland in 1136 as King Constantin Ua Cheinnselaig, King of Ireland, Duke of Tara, Duke of Leinster, Earl of Dublin, Earl of Leinster, Earl of Kildare, Earl of Ossory, Earl of Thomond, Earl of Desmond, Earl of Tyrconnell and Heir to the Duchy of Munster.
We are 18 and our wife is 28, our heir is our 14 year old half-brother, we have 17 Vassals and all but two of which have a pretty positive outlook on us - those two are the Duke of Munster (who is also the Earl of Breifne, Duke Blathmac Ua Cheinnselaig our Kinsman) and the Duke of Ulster (who is also the Earl of Tyrone and Connacht, Duke Stefano Ua Cheinnselaig our Uncle). Those two are also at war with eachother within our Kingdom as the Duke of Ulster attempts to take the County Breifne from the Duke of Munster - hopefully he is not able to as this will allow him to usurp the role of Duke of Connacht if he can get the power up and then he would become an even bigger threat to us (he is already the leader of a faction to instate himself on the throne as he sees himself as our rival and is a pretender claimant).
1136-1143 Becoming a Paragon of Virtue
We embrace our love for our wife and spurn several potential mistresses through 1137. My wife becomes pregnant with our first child in May of 1137.
My twin Uncles come of age and I marry them to Princesses and Baronesses.
In December 1137 our son Amalgaid is born and becomes the new heir to the kingdom! I gain the gregarious trait when I throw a feast for a group of traveling Holy Knights.
I spent most of the decade passing out relatives to royal marriages across Europe as many of my father and grandfather's children come of age.
I also upgraded castle buildings in my four coure Provinces.
In October 1141 my daughter Cacht was born.
In July 1143 we successfully fulfilled our ambition to become a 'Paragon of Virtue' and became known as Constantin the Holy
1143-1150 Embracing War once again
In July 1143 we also successfully fabricated a claim on the County Dyfed in Wales. The time has again come for war!
We declare war on the Petty Kingdom of Deheubarth and call our allies the Kingdom of England in to help. Their armies actually start attacking even before we can get to Wales!
Unfortunately during the war (at the age of 25) our King Constatin falls ill and dies (he doesn't die of the sickness however, he dies of a snake bite!). I become my son 5 Year old King Amalgaid of Ireland - we are in for some hard times.
Fortunately we have several extra titles to give out to make some more loyal vassals. First we hand the County of Tyrconnell to the new Earl Fiachnae Ua Cheinnselaig (a distant relative) and then hand the County of Tyrconnell to another kinsman, the new Earl Artgal Ua Chinnselaig.
Thankfully after a short regency under Uilliam Chinnselaig (who hates me with a burning passion) my own mother, the Queen Mother of Ireland takes over (this make my Demnse max go up to 8! I wish I hadn't passed out those titles now)
Thankfully when the Welsh do surrender we are able to keep the County Dyfed.
Duke Stefano of Ulster succeeds finally in taking the county Breifne from the Duke of Munster (who in turn takes the County Ormond from the Welsh Earl that was there so there's that at least). The Duke of Ulster is now once more my biggest threat.
I gain the Cruel trait but it is immediately reversed to the Kind trait thanks to my Mother's good upbringing.
Duke Stefano of Ulster is once again waging war within my realm. He is attacking the County Oriel. I have decided it is time for me to put a stop to this.
I revoke his title of Earl of Breifne and he refuses and revolts - to war!
Our main forces meet those of the Duke of Ulster in the County Oriel where we break them and push them back. Then we lay seige to the County Tyrone where the Duke has setup his capital.
During the seige we learn that Prince Uilliam Cheinnselaig is hiring mercenaries and planning to attack for his claim to the Kingdom.
We also learn that the Earl of Tyrconnell is excommunicated and we can imprison him without suffering Tyranny so we try to do so and he rebels as well.
We finish the war with the Duke of Ulster and imprison him and then attack the Duke of Tyrconnell and crush his army.
During the siege of Tyrconnell Prince Uilliam launches his bid for control of the Kingdom.
He launches a force of over 12000 men to Dublin, but then they spread out into 2-3000 man armies and lay seige to several counties. We are able to disengage from our siege of Tyrconnell and attack one group while two mercenary groups we hired take on another two groups. Three victories later and his force is cut in half. We regroup and smash the main force and then disband the mercenaries and hunt down the survivors.
Another threat to the Kingdom down we return to our siege of Tyrconnell and finish the conquest.
Now with both the Duke of Ulster and Earl of Tyrconnell in the Dungeons I strip them of their top titles and take them for myself.
1150 Status
We have adverted most of the succession crisis and put down several rebellions. Thanks to the high stewardship of our mother and regent we are able to keep our gains and even though most of our vassals don't like us very much (-10 Too Many Held Duchies, -10 Female Heir, plus Short Reign penalties do not help) we are in a very powerful position.
As you can see on the map Scotland is now called the Kingdom of Alba (as it is rule by non-Scottish, namely the Bretons who have been kicked out of Brittany by the French). England is still very strong but their attention is towards the holy land as they now have many ties there even though they no longer hold it.
We now have a foothold into Wales and once I become a man I plan to take the County Gwent (to which I have a claim) and then continue to expand into the Region. I can take 5 of the 8 counties of Wales without involving England which is what I will try to do - then I will be able to form the Kingdom of Wales and have de Jure claims on the other 3 which we will have to take from England (hopefully they will get into some revolts and stuff.
