Pokemon Yellow: Playthrough Part 6 - Final

Through Victory Road, on to the Pokémon League and the Championship!

We left off last time just about ready to enter Victory Road on our way to the Elite Four and the Championship!

The Trek through Victory Road was long an ardurous, with quite a few trainers, but I did pick up a few new Pokémon including Moltres right before the exit. All three Legendary Bird Pokémon caught!

After making it through Victory Road and healing up at the Pokémon center on Indigo Plateau, this is the state of my Pokémon party before taking on the Elite Four. My levels aren't as high as I would like but hopefully the variety of my Pokémon will pull me through.

First up is Loreli, her Water/Ice Pokémon did a number on my party, but Venusaur and Pikachu pulled us through.

Next up is Bruno, he has fighting Pokémon which Pidgeot just destroyed - Blastoise took out his two Onix quickly as well.
Charizard (with Earthquake) and Pikachu (with Thunder) handled Agatha's Ghost/Poison Pokémon.
Lance is always tough to beat with his awesome Dragon Pokémon, but Pikachu took out Gyrados while Blastoise (with Ice Beam) took out basically all the rest, I did have to heal him twice though.
I gained several levels from taking down the Elite Four, but I knew Gary was going to be a beast so I made sure everyone was 100% healed and put Venusaur out first to counter the Sandslash he always uses.
The fight was intense, I was able to take down all of his Pokémon but he took down several of mine. Pikachu barely survived the last match with Vaporeon and I only had Blastoise and Pidgeot to fall back on (both already hurt).
It was close but Gary was defeated, Professor Oak showed up and basically told Gary he's a jerk and doesn't deserve to be Pokémon Champion until he's nicer.
My Pokémon joined the Hall of Fame and the credits rolled... The End right?
Wrong, I started back in and took off for Cerulean City, to enter the cave only Pokémon Champions are allowed in. The Cave is full of exotic and quite strong Pokémon (the Ditto are usually Lvl 60 for example) and many Pokémon were caught and much experience was gained.
However, the true reason for my visit and the reason I tucked the Master Ball away earlier in the game is so that I could catch the Legendary Mewtwo - he is so Awesome!
That's all folks, I can always take on the Elite Four and Gary again (with Mewtwo it will be a cinch) and of course that PokéDex isn't even halfway full.... but that's the beauty of Pokémon games, they always have more to find and do.

I hope you enjoyed the tale, I've still got Pokémon fever though so I might play Silver or Crystal next and write about it, stay tuned!
